You cannot identify asbestos by sight. Testing comes first.
Older commercial, industrial, and government buildings across Georgia may contain asbestos in floor tile, pipe insulation, ceilings, roofing, joint compound, and mechanical components. Intact material may present little immediate risk. The danger begins when renovation, demolition, maintenance, or damage sends fibers airborne.

The work zone is sealed and placed under HEPA-filtered negative pressure with controlled decontamination procedures.
Removal or encapsulation
Certified technicians use regulated wet methods to remove material or encapsulate it when that is the safer solution.
Sealed disposal
Waste is packaged, labeled, transported, and disposed of through licensed facilities with a documented chain of custody.

When asbestos becomes a problem you have to act on
Most exposure in commercial settings comes from disturbance: cutting old flooring, opening walls, removing ceilings, replacing a roof, or tearing out damaged insulation after a water loss. Any of those actions can release fibers into occupied space.
Commercial renovation and demolition work commonly requires an asbestos survey before disturbance begins. Skipping the survey can stop a project, create exposure liability, and trigger regulatory penalties.

Not always. Material in good condition may sometimes be managed or encapsulated. The correct approach depends on the material, condition, planned work, and regulatory requirements.
Can abatement be phased around facility operations?+
Yes, many commercial projects can be contained and phased to reduce disruption, provided the work plan and building conditions support it.
